Active Transport

Cell membrane controls the passage of ions, sugars, amino acids, nucleotides, and water through the lipid bilayer. Active transport occurs when a solute is transported against the concentration gradient. In this experiment, you will observe how cell viability effects the removal of Congo red dye from yeast cells.
